Downtown York has been screaming for ice cream. It’s finally here at Beaver Street shop

At long last, an ice cream shop has opened in downtown York! And it’s even open past 9 p.m.

Sweets & More Ice Cream, located in the former Pardon My French vintage home decor store, had its soft opening this week offering 12 ice cream flavors from Windy Knoll Creamery based in Chambersburg.

Flavors will rotate each month and currently include blueberry cheesecake, peach, mint chip, black raspberry, peanut butter overload and more, which come with the option of three different size cones or bowls.

Owner Nicole Brillhart said patrons can expect to see more on the menu in a few weeks, including vegan flavors, freshly made popcorn, warm apple pie a la mode, brownie sundaes, ice cream floats and more. The shop will even offer a game room for all ages to play.

Brillhart, a mother of two, said her goal was to offer what downtown has been missing: ice cream, and a space for kids to hang out after school and in the evening.

Sweets & More Ice Cream is located at 33 N. Beaver St., York, and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
