Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall Expected Across Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania Sunday

National Weather Service Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Region

CLEVELAND, OH—The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for much of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio, as well as northwest Pennsylvania, warning of potentially severe weather conditions this afternoon and evening.

Residents in these areas should brace for scattered thunderstorms, some of which could reach severe levels, bringing isolated damaging wind gusts and the potential for heavy rainfall.

Potential for Severe Storms and Localized Flooding

According to the NWS, while the storms are expected to be scattered, a few could turn strong to severe, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. Isolated wind gusts pose a threat to property and safety, with the potential for localized power outages or damage to trees and structures.

Additionally, the heavy rainfall accompanying these storms may result in localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas and urban environments. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution, particularly in flood-prone locations where water can accumulate quickly.
