Memorial service set for fallen Goldsboro fire police officer Brian Peek: fire department

A memorial service for fallen Goldsboro fire police officer Brian Peek has been scheduled for this month, according to the fire department.

The service will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Fairview Township Fire Department Station 1 at 340 Lewisberry Road, the Goldsboro Fire Company No. 1 posted on Facebook.

Attendees can arrive at 1 p.m. The service will start at 1:30 p.m., the fire department said.

The service is open to anyone, but seating is limited.

Peek was killed in the line of duty when he was struck by a vehicle on Friday, Aug. 16 while directing traffic at the intersection of Red Mill Road and Corn Hill Road in Newberry Township. First responders were on a call for a vehicle that struck a house in the area.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the fatal wreck.

Peek had a “passion for firefighting,” according to his obituary .

Peek was a member of the Goldsboro Fire Company and the Goldsboro Fireman’s Club, his obituary states. He also was a former member of the Fairview Township Fire Company, the Malabar Fire Company in Florida, and the Middle River Fire Company in Maryland.
