Thousands of lanterns to light up Dauphin County skies this month

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Thousands of floating lanterns will light up the sky in Grantville later this month as part of the Night Lights Lantern Festival.

According to the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, the event will take place at the Hollywood Casino on Oct. 26 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The casino says this is a ticketed event that will include food trucks, live music, vendors, and additional entertainment leading up to the lantern release.

Tickets can be purchased online for $44 per person or $74 at the door. The casino said everyone above the age of 7 is required to have a ticket. Additionally, tickets include a lantern kit and general admission to the event space.

Gates are set to open at 2:00 p.m., and parking fees are included in tickets, according to the casino.

The release of the sky lanterns will hold a lot of meaning for people and we can’t wait to see the community come together for this special night.”
