Harrisburg hosts 78th annual PA National Horse Show

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The 78th annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show has begun at the Farm Show Complex. This competition attracts some of the best riders in the world.

This 11-day horse show brings in the best of the best from nearly all 50 states, as around 1,200 horses will compete throughout the show. These riders have to qualify to be here. Not only are there competitions, but also vendors and educational displays. You can even meet some of the horses.

“It’s really considered an honor to get to come and compete here,” said Emily Randolph, the manager of marketing of the show. “It’s a very big deal and it’s also a cool opportunity for this area to come out and see horses and riders of this caliber.”

“I think my favorite thing about the show is just all the history and tradition that is here,” said Amanda Steege, a fan from New Jersey. “It brings back a lot of memories and makes me think of all the great rides and horses that I’ve seen compete here before.”
