Warm and pleasant today and tomorrow

TODAY: Sunny & Warm. Hi 80.

TONIGHT: Clear & Comfy. Lo 48.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly Sunny, Breezy. Hi 80. Winds: SW 5-15 mph.

Yesterday brought sunshine and warmth with afternoon high temperatures just shy of 80°. Today and tomorrow should reach 80° and it will be near record warmth for late October. The record high today is 83° set in 1947. Expect lots of sunshine today and tomorrow with more dry weather in place. Tomorrow will feature a stiff southwest breeze ahead of a cold front that will bring just a few clouds Wednesday night. Central PA should stay dry as the front passes.

The weather will turn cooler behind this front for the end of the week. Highs will only be near 60° on Thursday and in the lower 60s on Friday. Another weak front will move through Friday night into Saturday setting the stage for even cooler air by Sunday. While shorts may be acceptable for the next two days, sweatshirts and jackets will be needed again heading into the weekend. We’ll keep you posted. At this point, rain looks hard to come by for the rest of the month. There are signs a front may move through on Halloween with a few showers, but persistence suggests most fronts dry up before arrival. It’s also over a week away, so we aren’t banking on anything yet. Stay tuned!
