Weapon threat leads to increased police presence for Steelton-Highspire High School

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Students and staff at Steelton-Highspire High School can expect to see an increase in law enforcement Wednesday after a threat was made.

There was a threat about someone bringing a weapon to the Jr./Sr. high school, Superintendent Dr. Mick Iskric wrote in a statement posted on Facebook.

A student reported the threat to school officials, who notified law enforcement. There will be an increase in police presence “out of an abundance of caution,” the post states.

“The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, which is why we are taking these additional measures,” Iskric wrote. “We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”
