CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A driver charged in a deadly Cumberland County high-speed crash in September last year has been sentenced.
Online court records show Mackenzie Hilsinger, 33, of Mechanicsburg, will spend three years on supervised probation after he was sentenced by Judge Jessica Brewbaker on Oct. 8. If he has no violations in his first two years then he can spend the rest unsupervised.
Hilsinger had previously pled guilty to aggravated assault by vehicle in July, however charges of homicide by vehicle and two others regarding traffic violations were dismissed by Brewbaker, according to court records.
Hilsinger was traveling over 80mph before crashing head-on into another vehicle being driven by Gregory Maloni, Silver Spring Township Police said in the charges filed. It was noted in the charges the crash that happened on the 1200 block of West Trindle Road is a posted 45mph road.
