WellSpan York NICU babies dressed for Halloween

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — Parents of babies in intensive care learn not to take anything for granted. But, at WellSpan York’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, there was an adorable bit of normalcy.

Folks who work there made Halloween costumes for their patients, but, as with everything in the NICU, this required extra care.

“The costumes are designed to be thin to just go over top of them,” Michael Goodstein, MD, neonatologist and director of the WellSpan York Hospital NICU. “We do them briefly so the parents can enjoy. They get their photo opportunity and then we can kind of get them back out of that so that we keep them in a safe sleep environment.”
