Harrisburg officials on Tuesday moved to take control of an embattled housing community known as Governor’s Square by asking to have a receiver appointed. City Solicitor Neil Grover said city officials were “fed up” with languishing repairs, failed sales attempts and a lack of information from the current bankrupt owner, Uptown Partners. He said a receiver appointed by a local judge could triage and jumpstart vital repairs for remaining residents and prepare the property in uptown to meet codes and for a potential sale.
