(WHTM) — Wednesday’s Hometown Heroes are wrapping up a 6-year effort to honor veterans in York County.
Volunteers at Dover Area High School have raised $192,000 for their “Veterans’ Memorial.” Multiple large granite slabs arrived today.

“Well it’s been 6 long years since this project was started, so it’s coming to a culmination now,” said Brad Jacobs, Chair of the Dover Veterans Memorial Committee. “This day is a relief, and now every day in Dover will be Veterans Day.”
The dedication is scheduled for Veterans Day, which is November 11.
