PepsiCo Is Closing Four Bottling Plants – One of Them in Chicago

According to a new report by My Journal-Courier, PepsiCo will be closing four of its bottling plants – with one of them being located in Chicago. According to the report, the company announced on Wednesday, October 30, that it plans to close four plants and that almost 400 workers will be affected.

The company said the reason behind the closures is an effort to “streamline its operations”. The closures will affect 136 workers in Cincinnati, 131 in Chicago, 127 in Harrisburg, PA, and fewer than 50 in Atlanta.

According to the report, the plant in Chicago is the only one that will fully close. Sales, delivery, and warehouse functions will still take place at the other three locations – according to the report.
