HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s kicked off Saturday morning on City Island.
Nearly 7 Million Americans are living with the disease according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Walks like Saturday’s are a way to honor those impacted.
Walkers carry flowers of various colors.

“The Pennsylvania government just passed, had funding for more support for Alzheimer’s,” Kris Hansen-Kieffer, Greater Pennsylvania Alzheimer’s Board, said, “and so raising that awareness and knowing that we have a place to send people for support is critical to moving us forward.”
The Harrisburg Alzheimer’s Walk has raised more than $150,000 out of a $250,00 fundraising goal.
