CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) – A Midstate dental group is holding a free dental care day for Central Pennsylvania Veterans Saturday, November 9th.
Verber Dental Group in Camp Hill, Cumberland County has held these free dental care days in the past, but for the celebration of its 5th anniversary, they decided to open the day for Veterans.
The team at Verber Dental also said it is a great way to honor local Veterans prior to Veteran’s Day. “We do a few, three or four, Time to Smile events each year and it just made sense with Veteran’s Day coming up to do veterans,” said Michael Verber, CEO of Verber Dental Group.
The event will provide free dental care for Veterans, including extractions, general hygiene, and other dental procedures. “We have some veterans that are patients that aren’t necessarily able to get all the treatment that they’d like so sometimes some of our own patients are coming in on these days to get some additional treatment,” said Verber.
Peter Alfano of Alfano Oral Surgery and Verber Dental Group agreed that Veterans are an underserved population in the area. He says over 20 outside dental care providers are volunteering their time Saturday to work alongside them.
