DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Dozens of emergency crews from in and around Dauphin County were called to the scene of a brush fire in Lower Paxton Township Friday.
While the fire was contained, local residents were on edge as the fire continued to burn for hours.
“I think a lot of people were just a little confused, shocked, unsure of which way things were going to go,” said Eric Ewing.

And many residents had similar reactions when recalling Friday’s fire, with the dry weather and fallen leaves only fueling it.
According to Brett Graham, Lower Paxton Township’s Fire Chief, the fire started after someone dumped trashed and set it on fire.
Graham tells abc27 News, that person was treated for burns at a nearby hospital and will be charged.
“These things happen,” Ewing added. “It happens everywhere. We least expect it here.”
The fire happened in a close proximity of these residents causing some safety concerns.
