Selinsgrove, Pa. — A suspect was charged for allegedly assaulting a student on the campus of Susquehanna University.
Police were called to the campus the evening of Nov. 11 after Benjamin Pedro Stern, 19, of Annville, allegedly went into the student’s room and attacked him. The accuser told police that he received a text from Stern asking if he was in his room, according to the affidavit.
Shortly after, Stern’s girlfriend who also was the student’s classmate, knocked on the door. The accuser let her in. A moment later, Stern barged into the room and immediately grappled the accuser around the waist, according to the affidavit written by Officer Gregory Hoffman of Selinsgrove Borough Police. A fight then ensued, as the student punched Stern in self defense. Both men pushed and shoved each other across the room as they threw punches. At one point, Stern grabbed the accuser by the neck and choked him.
The accuser was able to break free and Stern and his girlfriend left. The accuser was taken to the hospital a short time later and told police he felt pain all over his body, but his hands, back, and shoulder were the worst, according to the affidavit.
