Active Winter-Like Pattern to Continue in the Northeast

NYC Active Pattern Begins
Good morning everyone. Heavy snow continues to fall across parts of New York, Pennsylvania, and extreme northwest New Jersey as our low pressure system wraps up tight and pulls down cold air from Canada. This will be the start of an active, colder, and possibly wintry pattern that we see starting to come together.
Once our system departs today, we’re not too far away from the next one as we begin to watch for Thanksgiving Day and the holiday weekend. That will be courtesy of our next West Coast storm system set to come ashore along parts of California, Oregon, and Washington Monday or Tuesday. It’ll be moving fairly quickly, and will be knocking on our doorstep by Thursday or Friday.
As of now, we’re not looking at any major low pressure system. However, cold air locked in the Northeast could give us an overrunning setup, with a nice bump of snow ahead of the system, then rain changing back to snow as the system departs. So far it looks as if some of the areas impacted today, will be impacted late next week. This means the New York & Pennsylvania Catskill region could be in for more snow on top of the 6-18″ (depending on your elevation) of snow we see with our current snow storm.
