(WHTM) — Cheerleading squads from across the Midstate were competing for District III gold Saturday, one of which won for the 15th consecutive time.
The PIAA District III Competitive Spirit Championships were held Saturday at Central Dauphin East High School, featuring 27 teams across five divisions.
Cumberland Valley noticed their 15th consecutive district title in Class 3A Large Squad, their 15th straight. Since district championships began in 2010, the Eagles have won gold.
Susquenita took gold in the Class 2A Small Squad division.
The championships are qualifiers for the PIAA State Competition to be held in Reading in late January.
Competitive Spirit is split into five divisions, four based on the school and team’s sizes, and a Coed division for teams that have at least one male athlete on the mat.
