Snow Developing Across Parts of New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio

Upwards of 6″ of Snow Possible Across Parts of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine

Good afternoon everyone. As forecasted and discussed this morning, we are watching a fast moving system coming out of the Great Lakes region and into the Northeast & New England, with some snow likely overnight tonight and tomorrow.

We are watching some of that snow break out in northwest Pennsylvania and in western New York. In Ohio, we have light rain and sprinkles for now, but evaporative cooling will help change that over to snow over the course of the next few hours.

A fast moving area of light to moderate snow will run through New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, then head through much of New England. Across upper Vermont, New Hampshire, and parts of upper and easternmost Maine, we could see upwards of 6″ with the help of some extra lift, plus more convective snows near the coast.

Across the New York City metro area and surrounding counties north & west of the City, we are looking at a coating to 2″ of snow possible. The best chance to see those higher amounts, will be those counties N&W of the City. Across Long Island, look for a trace to 1/2″ of snow possible, and much of it will melt once the sun comes out later in the day tomorrow.
