Man killed in Christmas Eve shooting at Sheetz in East Manchester Township

A man died after a shooting Christmas Eve in the parking lot the Sheetz convenience store in East Manchester Township.

The York County Coroner received a dispatch at 5:36 p.m. for a male who had reportedly been involved in a shooting in the parking lot of the Sheetz near Manchester borough, the coroner said a news release.

Deputy Coroner Molly York responded to the scene to investigate and certify the death.

York County Regional Police Department is the investigating police agency, assisted by County of Yorkdetectives. No further information is available at this time as this is an ongoing investigation, said the release.

Next of kin has been notified, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.Cause and manner of death will be updated pending those results.

York County Regional Police reportedly told WGAL it appeared that the victim, who was in his early 20s, was targeted. “Investigators believe multiple armed people were involved but have not named any suspects,” reported the TV news station.
