Harrisburg-area grocery store limiting egg, milk purchases amid bird flu outbreaks

LOWER PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg-area grocery store is limiting the amount of eggs and milk customers can purchase as avian flu outbreaks hit across the country.

Lidl in Lower Paxton Township posted on its coolers that they are limiting customers to two 12-count egg purchases and six one-gallon milk purchases.

abc27 reached out to Lidl for comment on the limitations but has not heard back at this time.

The restrictions on egg purchases come as millions of birds are being affected by avian flu across the country. In the Midstate, there have been multiple outbreaks in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, and Lancaster counties.
