Cumberland County fire department purchases new UTV using $13,500 grant

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A fire department in Cumberland County accepted a $13,500 grant, which was used to help purchase a new utility task vehicle (UTV).

The Fairview Township Fire Department in New Cumberland accepted the grant from Energy Transfer during a ceremony Wednesday, which aided in the purchase of a 2025 CFMOTO Uforce 1000, a UTV that has off-road rescue capabilities.

“This UTV will enhance our primary mission of protecting Fairview Township residents by improving our response time, expanding our rescue operations and enhancing interagency collaboration,” said Fairview Township Fire Lieutenant Brandon Freistat. “This vehicle will help us respond in challenging terrains, including wooded areas, trails and flood-prone regions. We are deeply grateful to Energy Transfer for this support through this grant.”…
