Storm knocks out power for thousands in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. β€” Severe storms that swept through Cumberland County on Friday evening left thousands without power and left behind a trail of damage across south-central Pennsylvania.

PPL Electric Utilities reported that about 6,200 customers were without electricity after intense winds and lightning downed trees, power lines and transformers in Enola and the surrounding areas.

β€œThe trees were going everywhere,” said Cheyenne Wallace, a local resident who experienced the storm firsthand. “I heard multiple loud booms.”…
