After PSP find car abandoned outside of Shippensburg, one man is charged with aggravated assault, threatening to kill victim throughout the night

SHIPPENSBURG- An domestic incident in a vehicle outside of Shippensburg has ended with one person in the hospital and one behind bars. William Phillip Adkins remains incarcerated in Cumberland County Jail after being charged with felony aggravated assault with extreme indifference, misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor unlawful restraint, and misdemeanor assault. Adkins remains in the Cumberland County Jail.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to the intersection of Shippensburg Road and Ridge Road, Southampton Township, Cumberland County for a reported vehicle abandoned in the roadway around 7:39pm on June 7th. That vehicle, a 2020 black Ford Edge, was found unoccupied, unlocked, with the front windows rolled down, and parked in the middle of the intersection.

Around 6pm on June 9th, PSP were again contacted, but this time by the Springettsbury Township PD in York County after a welfare check on the owner of the vehicle that was found abandoned outside of Shippensburg. That victim, STPD say, was reportedly a victim of domestic assault by William Adkins, with the victim reporting that she was riding as a passenger on June 7th when an argument broke out between her and Adkins, the driver…
