(WHTM) — Building new and affordable homes throughout the Commonwealth — that’s not only a goal of the Shapiro administration, but businesses in the Midstate.
“Housing deficiency is nationwide right now, but we are being hit particularly hard in this area,” said Ben Mathus, ReStore Director, Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity. “We are seeing prices for rentals are skyrocketing. There are not enough homes and the homes that are available are very often unsafe. They’re allowing moisture in. They don’t have working kitchens. They don’t have floors sometimes. They’re not safe.”
