YORK, Pa. — An animal cruelty police unit is investigating a Red Lion bird store where a customer found rooms full of birds in dirty conditions and seemingly without proper care.
Patricia Craigen said she went to The Bird Boyz on S. Main St on Tuesday, June 24 to buy food for her bird. She had never been to the store before, and was shocked by what she found inside.
No employees were inside the store, and she said the door was left unlocked with a key in lock. Inside, she found hundreds of squawking birds in dirty cages, some without food and water, and overall filthy conditions…
