Man arrested after trying to blow up his Dauphin County home: police

A Dauphin County man was jailed after a series of erratic actions that reached a climax when he set his house on fire Monday, police said in court documents.

John Esh, 32, is being held without bail with 10 active dockets, including felony counts of causing catastrophe, arson, reckless burning or exploding, and criminal mischief.

Pennsylvania State Police said Esh called the Lykens barracks around 1:49 a.m. Monday and made “several suspicious and incoherent statements” about a fire at his house on the 500 block of Picnic Road in Lykens…
