DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — An 88-year-old bicyclist died after being involved in a crash last week, the Dauphin County Coroner’s office confirmed Monday.
Pennsylvania State Police at Lykens said in a crash report that David Sterrett, of Millersburg, was riding his bike on Berrysburg Road in Upper Paxton Township at 11:18 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, when a driver tried to go around him as he crested a hill.
Man allegedly stole $555,892 in gold bars from local resident
The driver, a 72-year-old woman from Elizabethtown who was in a 2024 Hyundai Cruz, didn’t leave enough room when passing and hit Sterrett’s handlebars, causing him to crash, Troopers said.
The woman continued driving but turned around after she realized she had hit Sterrett.
