YORK, Pa. — What began as a celebration turned into a shutdown for a downtown York restaurant after a surprising energy bill revealed a two-year-old mistake. Mesa Moreira, a popular Portuguese restaurant, has permanently closed its doors following a billing error that left the owners with tens of thousands of dollars in unexpected debt.
“They came and shut off the power last Thursday,” said Christie Moreira, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband, Steven Moreira.
