PSP say Shippensburg man killed himself on PSP Carlisle lawn Thursday morning

CARLISLE- An elderly Shippensburg man is dead following an incident at the PSP Carlisle Barracks earlier on Thursday morning.

Pennsylvania State Police say that around 10:20am on July 31st, members of their Carlisle Station were notified of an active emergency on the station grounds, 2 Dunwoody Drive in Carlisle, following reports from patrons in the lobby. It was reported that a gunshot victim was in the grassy area at the front of the building.

Personnel members on site responded immediately, securing and canvassing the exterior of the station and establishing a perimeter. Responding members located a male subject lying in front of the station with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Further investigation confirmed the gunshot wound was self-inflicted and no threat to the public exists, but PSP Trooper Darnell Williams is investigating…
