MIDDLETOWN- It’s more than just a new coat of paint, as Constellation Energy has teased in the past that they would be looking to reopen the former Three Mile Island nuclear power facility outside of Harrisburg in an effort to supply much needed power to data centers. An in-person meeting is set to be held Thursday, July 31st, but additional meetings are scheduled for community input on the project.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission – NRC gave more details on their hosting of two public meetings to discuss the restart of the former Three Mile Island Unit 1 in Middletown, now called the Crane Clean Energy Center, for the Microsoft Data Center.
The project’s restart has been on an accelerated timeframe as the Department of Community and Economic Development and the administration of Governor Josh Shapiro have looked at this project as a top-tier feather in their cap for their messaging on “Getting (Stuff) Done”…
