Middle Atlantic Rainfall: Showers and Storms Continue Sunday Into Monday With Up to 1″ Possible

Harrisburg, Pa. – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could bring up to an inch of rain across Pennsylvania through Monday as a cold front sweeps across the region. Some of the heaviest downpours are expected to remain terrain-focused this afternoon before rainfall becomes more widespread Sunday into Monday.

According to the National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, rainfall amounts through Monday morning will range between a quarter-inch and one inch. While no major flooding concerns are anticipated, brief heavy showers could cause small rises on streams and low-lying creeks.

The highest rainfall totals are expected in central and northern parts of the state, including Harrisburg, Williamsport, and Scranton, where localized thunderstorms may produce higher amounts.
