Dauphin County fire company ends support for July 4 fireworks show: ‘No longer fits the spirit’

The Linglestown Fire Company has announced it will be ending its financial support for a local fireworks event.

In a press release, the company announced that its participation with the Lower Paxton Township July 3rd fireworks show “has been a part of the Linglestown Fire Company for many years,” but that disruptions over the past several years have led to its withdrawal.

“Your support over the years is truly a testament to where we stand in the community we serve, and we are grateful,” the press release reads. “However, in recent years, the show has brought a different feeling to the members of the Fire Company, the other first responders who assist, and the residents who attend it.”…
