Harrisburg community giving back as school supply prices surge from 2024

Harrisburg, PA — Educational supplies across the country have seen a sharp increase in 2024, and with the majority of students in Harrisburg coming from low-income households, organizations across Dauphin County have been stepping in to help.

The latest data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics showed prices for supplies like textbooks, pencils, notepads, and other items were over 9% higher this year than in 2024.
