Dauphin County school district might pay parents to transport kids to and from school

After disruptions to the bus transportation for students in Susquehanna Township, the school district is considering other options.

The Susquehanna Township School District website has a statement addressed to the parents and guardians of their students, which states that the district “is considering a program to pay families who can transport their children to and from school every day for the 2025-2026 school year.”

The program, if it goes forward, would pay families $50 per student each month for transportation, up to $100 per household, for a 10 month period. The potential maximum payment would be $1,000 for the entire school year…
