State law gives teachers 9/11 history tools, but participation is optional

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — It has been 24 years since nearly three thousand lives were lost in the 9/11 terror attack in New York.

Schools in Central Pennsylvania and across the country are talking about the domestic tragedy with their students, but not all of them.

With Act 25 of 2024, one state lawmaker is hopeful that the anniversary of 9/11 can become a more “teachable lesson.”…
