SHIPPENSBURG- A Delaware man is facing two felony charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a Shippensburg University employee but only getting a few blocks away. Jacquaz Imani Whaley-Dixon failed to post bail of $250,000 after being charged with felony receiving stolen property, felony theft of movable property, and misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He remains lodged at the Cumberland County Prison.
Around 11:45am on September 10th, Shippensburg University PD would receive a walk-in call to alert them that an employee’s vehicle had been stolen from campus. That employee, police say, would tell them that he had clipped his vehicle keys to a backpack and put that bag into storage during his shift. Upon returning after his shift, that victim would get a ride from a friend home before learning that his vehicle was not in the lot that it had been left in.
Around 12:34am on the same date, prior to the victim’s arrival at Shippensburg University PD, that vehicle would be pulled over by SUPD themselves. That stop allegedly saw the driver, Jacquaz Whaley-Dixon, tell police he was driving his uncle’s car. Whaley-Dixon would be released and given a verbal warning for driving without headlights on…
