Lower Paxton Township’s first-ever fully paid firefighters are set to report for duty after township officials decided earlier this year to augment its volunteer force with paid responders.
“After a lengthy hiring process, 10 offers were extended, with 8 dedicated candidates stepping forward to begin a 4-week orientation and training program. This is the start of a new chapter in providing strong, reliable fire protection for our community,” the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Fire posted on Facebook Saturday.
