Community gathers for candlelight vigil honoring teen found dead in Susquehanna River

More than a hundred people gathered on the banks of the Susquehanna River on Sunday night to remember the life of William Peters III.

Peters, 16, was found dead in the Susquehanna River on Thursday, Sept. 11, after a three-day search.

The Rev. Shannon D’Agostino, chaplain of the Millersburg Fire Co., led the service in the borough’s Myo Park as the sun set over the river. The service started with Bruno Mars’ “Talking to the Moon,” a song about missing a loved one…
