YORK COUNTY, Pa. — Just days after three Northern York Regional Police officers were killed in the line of duty in North Codorus Township on Wednesday, members of the community came together Sunday evening, Sept. 21 at Genesis Church of York for a time of prayer, reflection and healing.
Lead Pastor Bob Tome said the “Community Prayer and Share” event Sunday at the North Codorus Township-based church was organized to give people space not only to pray, but also to speak openly about their grief.
“We’re having a prayer vigil honoring the three officers who were slain here in North Codorus Township,” said Tome. “Sometimes people go to a service, and they sit as spectators, and yet their heart is hurting. We wanted to give them an opportunity tonight not only to pray, but to have a chance to share, to express their grief and sorrow, so they feel that they have an outlet and have people around them who are supportive as well.”…
