Man accused of stealing more than $92K from Geneva American Legion arrested in Pennsylvania

The former leader of an American Legion post, who authorities say skipped out on his court date after being accused of stealing funds, is in the custody of police in Pennsylvania.

Dale Mosher was charged last year with second-degree grand larceny. Prosecutors said he stole more than $92,000 from the Geneva American Legion post over the course of at least five years.

Mosher did not show up to his Sept. 18 court appearance, according to officials. Investigators learned Mosher had gone to his sister’s place in Tennessee and then took her vehicle to the central Pennsylvania area.

“During this time, three victims, now from Geneva, two from the city and one who resides in the town, received letters that were very threatening, and two people’s lives were threatened,” said Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione. “Two of the three people are witnesses in the case against Mr. Mosher. The third is a relative.”…
