CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An inmate as SCI Camp Hill is facing charges after allegedly setting fire to the inside of his cell, and causing an evacuation at the facility.
According to an affidavit, on October 17 an inmate performing a job on the upper level of the E-block alerted three COs to an issue on the floor, prompting inmate Daquian Brown, 31, to be removed from his cell and transferred to a vacant cell.
Smoke from a fire inside the cell filled both levels of the Restricted Housing Unit (RHU) pod, causing 37 inmates to have to be evacuated, and multiple inmates in the neighboring “C” pod having to be evaluated for smoke inhalation, according to an affidavit…
