State Corrections Employee Accused of Trying to Meet Underage Girl in Punxsy Waives Hearing

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — The case against a Pennsylvania Department of Corrections employee who allegedly arranged to meet a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl at a Punxsutawney playground has moved forward in court.

Court documents show that the following charges against 36-year-old Robert K. Burkholder, of Lewisberry, were waived for court on October 22 before Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock:

  • Criminal Attempt — Statutory Sexual Assault: 11 Years Older, Felony 1
  • Criminal Attempt — IDSI Person Less Than 16 Years of Age, Felony 1
  • Criminal Attempt — Aggravated Indecent Assault — Complainant Less Than 16, Felony 2
  • Criminal Attempt — Corruption of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
  • Criminal Use of Communication Facility, Felony 3
  • Criminal Attempt — Indecent Assault Person Less Than 16 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 2

The case has been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.
