HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Midstate first responders are being honored for their work with victims.
The YWCA Greater Harrisburg held its annual first responders breakfast on Friday. It’s a chance to thank and acknowledge the work first responders do in working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
“Today is really a wonderful event for us because it’s an opportunity to say thank you and have gratitude for the first responders, mostly law enforcement, who are that first point of contact for many victims of domestic violence,” President of YWCA Greater Harrisburg, Mary Quinn, said.
