YORK, Pa. — More than five decades after he was killed in Vietnam, Marine Roger Lee Fraker is being remembered in a lasting way — with his name now emblazoned on a bridge in his hometown.
For years, the Fraker family held on to photographs, letters, and memories of a son and brother who left home at 19 and never returned. On Saturday, they saw his name in bold letters on the bridge that crosses the same streets he once walked.
“It’s hard to describe this special day this was beyond special. If you rate on a scale do one to ten this was a 20,” said Beverly Vaughn, Fraker’s sister. “It was rest in peace brother, job well done, and it was community. It was peaceful. It was a blessing.”…
