Dauphin County taxpayers spent $670K on vacant lot, giving sellers huge profit

Dauphin County taxpayers spent $670,000 this summer on a 3.47-acre lot, part of a proposed housing solution to Harrisburg’s dismantled “tent city.”

The lot, once used for truck parking, was sold to Amiracle4sure, a Harrisburg nonprofit to create a safe community for dozens of unhoused people after they were ousted from their prior location.

An obscure LLC that owned the lot for a little over two years walked away with a 168% profit, about $420,000, from the deal without making any obvious improvements to the land or any changes to the zoning…
