Customers, neighbors concerned about traffic caused by Cumberland County’s first Costco

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Many braved the rain to go to the opening of Cumberland County’s first Costco store early Thursday morning.

From 7:45 a.m. to roughly 5:00 p.m., there were more than 5,000 customers inside the store, according to a Costco employee. But as the aisles continuing to fill up, there is some concern that the Carlisle Pike will, too.

“I know Costco is very popular, so definitely more so than BJs,” said Mary Zerance, who lives in New Cumberland. “I think it will be consistently busy. I don’t anticipate it slacking off.”…
