Weather Impact Alert issued for high winds on Wednesday

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The FOX43 Weather Impact Team has issued a Weather Impact Alert from 6pm Wednesday through 4am Thursday as wind gusts of 40+ mph become possible. Folks should secure any outdoor loose objects, prepare for isolated power outages and use caution burning!

Breezy days continue this week as a series of cold fronts cross the Commonwealth through this weekend. After briefly relaxing Tuesday night, winds will become very breezy again through the day on Wednesday; generally, 20-30mph gusts through the afternoon. By the early evening, a front will bring the potential of 40+ mph gusts in a few spots, particularly in the higher elevations north and west of Harrisburg. In addition to our Weather Impact Alert, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for all of south-central PA from 1pm Wednesday through 10am Thursday. A High Wind Watch has also been issued for Mifflin and Juniata counties through 7am Thursday where wind gusts near 50mph seem more possible.
