Sheep captured after low-speed chase through Lebanon, Pennsylvania

LEBANON, Pa. — A sheep was apprehended by police in Lebanon on Saturday following a low-speed chase through the city.

Lebanon resident Holly O’Donnell was dropping her child off at Lebanon High School around 10 a.m. when she saw the sheep. After taking a video of the sheep in the parking lot, O’Donnell said she gave emergency dispatch a “play-by-play” of the sheep’s movements as she followed it around town.

Sam Simmers, a resident who helped police finally wrangle the animal, said that she first saw the sheep running down the middle of the road near the Good Samaritan Hospital, around half a mile away from the school. With two police cars tailing the sheep, Simmers said the sheep was herded into a fenced backyard around 11 a.m.

In photos posted by Simmers, a Lebanon City police officer can be seen hugging the animal to keep it still. Officers attached a leash, and the sheep was given water to cool down after the pursuit…
