Demand surges at central Pa. food banks amid SNAP lapses: ‘I’m thankful for this’

Krystin Reiff of Steelton stood in line on Monday at the Harrisburg Area Food Pantry with dozens of other people waiting to pick up groceries.

These days, Reiff, like a growing number of central Pa. residents, depends on food pantries to help feed her family, including her two children, ages 2 and 3.

“I didn’t receive my food stamps yet so I’m at the food bank because I need to provide for my two children,” she said. “I’m thankful for this.”…
